Join us for a practical session on how to navigate promotions of all kinds with industry experts in your field.
The arts organizations come in a variety of sizes and structures. When there is no straight path in your career journey or you’re dealing with a very flat and small hierarchy within your organization, how do you ensure you keep growing? What is a promotion in such circumstances? And how do you actually get one?
This session will focus on areas in the arts industry that are often hard to define or can mean different things in different organizations, such as programming, community outreach, project management, and education. You will learn how to communicate your own worth, how to talk about transferrable skills, and ask for growing opportunities, a raise, a promotion, or a new title (or all of the above).
Join us for a practical session on how to navigate promotions of all kinds with industry experts in your field. You will have a chance to practice asking for a promotion through role playing conversations with your ‘boss’ enacted by industry professionals and receive constructive feedback on your path and how to improve.
